It goes without saying that when someone improves their car they want extra horses and expect the best possible results. But everything is not just the horsepower as an absolute number but how well a motor is tuned.
How well is a motor tuned?
A well-tuned motor is always better than one that is overclocked. By doing Logs we can determine to a large extent how the motor is set. Each motor accepts a setting limit, and many times this limit is set by us. Do not go to set up a car supposedly with 100Ron of fuel and you have 95 in the tank. This can be seen during the setting. In simple words, a well-tuned motor is what the ecu intervenes as little as possible in making corrections.
What corrections does the ecu make?
The ecu is a computer that runs a real-time operating system (RTOS) and takes readings from sensors.
If the fuel quality is bad the ecu reduces the ignition advance dropping degrees to the advance. If we have excess fuel the ecu reduces the injection time so that we have the AFR we want. So as close to zero as possible we are from corrections the better.
What should I keep in mind to set up my car correctly?
In most cases we are talking about everyday passenger cars and not racing cars. We are talking about cars that will be set up in Athens, will travel to Halkidiki for holidays, will be pressed on the trip and will also be pressed in Thessaloniki.
